Leland Blue, a much loved "stone." This material is a by-product of iron smelting (slag). It's beautiful blue color is due to the unique mineral profile of the iron ore which came from the upper peninsula of Michigan and was smelted at a foundry in Leland MI in the 1800s. Glass like, easy care and so so pretty! Hand made in Northern MI by local artisans of sterling silver.
